The Franklin's Gull (Larus pipixcan) feeds mostly by gleaning food from the ground, but it will also hawk insects from the air, and hover over prey, then pounce on it from above. Franklin's Gulls may frequently be seen following agricultural machinery, eating insects that are stirred up by it.
